CCTV INSTALLATION

Multiple storage
options

When deploying video surveillance security, one of the first things to consider is whether to go with an on-premises (NVR, DVR) or cloud (vsaas) option.

To help guide your choice, understanding the pros and cons of each CAN GO ALONG WAY TO saving you time and money

NVR (Network Video Recorder) Pros

  • With NVR’s, most of the equipment needed for video surveillance is on the end user premises AND include cameras, nvr with server, video management, storage and a network switch

  • The user can UITILISE their internal bandwidth resources and record in high-RES without any problem

  • The NVR is completely owned by the customer and its functionality does not rely on an Internet connection WHICH is HUGELY BENEFICIAL IN CASES where connectivity is unreliable / POOR

NVR (Network Video Recorder) Cons

  • The cost of purchasing equipment can restrict certain users where in most cases you are looking at a much higher initial outlay to deploy your system which requires time to install, configure and maintain

  • NVRs can be a target to insider threats - A cyber breach of a one’s network could also contribute to a loss of recording and management resulting in COSTLY retrieval and replacement

  • Flexibility to add or reduce cameras, simultaneous viewing and access to footage tend to constrain the system, AND only a limited number of cameras can be connected

VSaas pros - You could argue that the disadvantages of the NVR bring out the benefits of VSaaS

  • The main argument being; the upfront cost of setting up video surveillance is much lower as there is low or no installation and deployment cost where you just need to connect the IP cameras to the VSaaS cloud applications

  • Security and reliability become less of an issue for VSaaS solutions as maintenance and software upgrades are all done by the service provider

  • A cloud solutions is more scalable and flexible, allowing you to expand or reduce camera counts based on need. New areas can be brought under surveillance by just installing a set of cameras and connecting to the VSaaS

VsaaS Cons

  • A reliable Internet connection is always needed to transmit video data to the cloud. VSaaS require huge bandwidth to the cloud storage and the monthly cost can run high if there is a lot of cameras

  • With the bandwidth constraint, the quality of video may have to be sacrificed and recording may be lost when the Internet connection is disrupted

  • Compared to the NVRs, cloud is relatively new so the quality of service may vary from vendor to vendor

NIGHT VISION

An ever increasing demand for night time CCTV footage has seen a surge in products and upgrade on conventional IR cameras.

We install the latest technology to help you capture colour images when most cameras would revert to black and white.

Starlight technology gives a CCTV camera the power to capture full colour images at low light levels. This means if there is sufficient light from other sources, such as lamp posts, then you could be getting full colour pictures all through the night.

The ColourNight range of cameras incorporate a high powered led that will illuminate a surrounding area.

This light can be programmed to come on when dark only or when the camera detects motion, acting as a security light.
